American Hawaii has the best shore excursion program of any ship I've been on! No standing in lines; you fill out a form, drop it in a box and your vouchers are delivered to your cabin a few hours later. Through the many and varied shore excursions offered, the beautifully refurbished ship complete with a museum, and a crew that "live aloha", guests are shown the "real Hawaii" that many visitors to Hawaii never experience. This is not just hype! This is not a glitzy party ship. This cruise would appeal more to the thoughtful traveller hoping to learn more about the culture and traditions of the Hawaiian people while exploring the natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. This was my fifth visit to Hawaii and my travelling companion was my son who had just graduated from High School and was a first-time visitor. With American Hawaii, I was able to share with him my favorite things from each island, and along with the many families aboard, we had a wonderful time!
